First the two musicians introduce their instruments and the pieces they will play. The flute and the harp are two very special instruments, having different advantages. The flute is a melodic instrument while the harp is more suitable for chords.
Artisjus award winning Klára Bábel has been playing the harp in the Hungarian Radio’s Symphonic Orchestra since 2010. She is the artistic leader of the concert series ’Sounds of Bábel’, in which she plays solo literature as well as together with other musicians they venture into the world of jazz. Artisjus award winning Eszter Illés is also open to contemporary music and finds it very important to perform modern music to the audience. On top of playing concerts her other passion is to teach younger generations to flute.
Following the concert podium talk with Mária R. Törley, sculptor about the musical life of Törley Salon and the inspiring role of classical music in the birth of the instrument-sculptures and art work with musical themes.
„I am a sculptor whose power lays within the expressivism. I work fast, with elementary power, passion. My main interest is the HUMAN BEING. The great hero, the saint, the frail, the sinner, the mundane, the suffering lonely and happy humans.
I attempt the spatial depiction of music, musical notes. One of the most meaningful part of my art work are the statuettes with sacral theme. I would like to transmit peace instead of war, love instead of hate, trust in God instead of fear of the future.”
